The twelve houses (bhavas) are the framework of every Kundli. Each house governs a specific area of life, and the planets sitting in — or ruling — a house shape how that area unfolds. Here is what each of the twelve houses represents.

- 3rd house: Courage, communication, siblings, short journeys, effort.
- 4th house: Home, mother, property, vehicles, emotional foundation.
- 5th house: Creativity, children, intelligence, romance, past-life merit.
- 6th house: Health, enemies, debts, daily work, obstacles overcome.
